Mechanics, Forces and Motion

Mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the study of the motion of bodies subjected to forces. Mechanics is divided into statics, which deals with sets of forces in equilbrium and kinematics, which deals with dynamic forces acting on objects. In addition rotational forces and oscillatory motion are also considered. Traditionally, mechanics is the foundation on which other topics in classical physics build upon.
